My intention is to provide an informative website based on the Yogic way of life.
Yogic, by definition, is the adjective of yoga. So to set the record straight, Yogic is not a new form of yoga. It is simply a lifestyle led by most yoga practitioners. Considering there are many degrees of a person’s lifestyle within yoga, this one is based on my unique style that I perceive as suitable for me. You will find writings about the experiences of friends, family and myself. There is no intention on my part to determine what is best for you but I am here to help You determine what is best for You. I am a Registered Yoga Instructor and affiliated with the National Yoga Alliance.
I am woman trying to live the yogic way in our modern world...sharing my ideas and inspirations that will hopefully inspire you to take that next step toward a more harmonious existence within your Mind, Body & Spirit.

Biography
Jennifer Dember, RYT, wife, & mother has had a personal practice of Yoga for over 10 years. She has incorporated Yoga into all aspects of her life. Through injury, pregnancy and post partem. It is here where Yoga truly balanced & toned her both mentally & physically. The physical effects were obvious before & after having a child by shaping the body, losing bulges and replacing them with lean muscle. The mental effects have coached her through labor and child rearing.
Her desire to teach stemmed from an urge to share this healing practice with everyone. Having been mentored and apprenticed with Linda Cucurullo, the director of Basic Moves Yoga, lead her to completing the 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification course at Hofstra University. Since then she has moved forward with the development of http://www.yogicliving.com, an independent resource for classes, retreats & accessories for her students. Her continuing education through books, retreats, seminars & ongoing classes, has kept her abreast of all the latest trends & classic styles encompassing the Yogic world. She has also completed been her training to practice Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation through hands on healing.
Jennifer’s intuitive nature is one of the many reasons why she’s able to adapt so well to each individual student. From; nursery-aged children, to physically challenged students, to anxiety stressed clients have been her expertise in the field. Her typical class consists of a genuine opportunity to tune into ones own body & move with gentle but an enlivening motion.
Creating a calm ambiance with a good flow of postures is how she helps her students heal themselves within each lesson. With Jennifer’s patient & excellent instruction each student builds up their own drive to sustain a regular practice. Through breath work, within her safe & warm environment, students attain a level of confidence therefore reducing their stress & anxiety levels.
Jennifer works individually with her students to promote their health now, no matter where they come from originally. Tailoring her private lessons into a noncompetitive and peaceful atmosphere has been successful for even her most novice students. Calm yet energized is how you’ll hear her students explain the effects of this gentle yet effective practice.
Reiki Sessions - "Supportive Healing Arts Complementary to Your Life Style"
Available for Private Sessions. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" (you are clothed). Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy.

**Men as well as Women are encouraged to attend class**
1.Join anytime. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. No shoes.
2.Do not force, strain or stretch further if any discomfort is noticed. Success in Yoga is not measured by flexibility, work with your body.
3.Do not eat a heavy meal before Yoga. (if you need to eat have an apple or something light)
4.Yoga is a non-sectarian, non-dogmatic, philosophical approach to a healthy living.
For Women...
5.Please notify the instructor at any stage of pregnancy. 1st Trimester may participate in regular classes. 2nd Trimester forward must take PreNatal Yoga Classes.
6.During menstruation, inverted poses (shoulder stand) should be modified.
